Question: Hi Doctor,This is XXXX. 24 year old-Single.

I had consulted you at Martha's hospital 1 or 1.5 year back for acne and Dandruff problem.U had prescribed me to go on Sotret for 6 months and to use XXXXXXX clear shampoo for dandruff.

I could not not manage to visit you again as I was in onsite for 1 year. But continued to take sotret pills for 4.5 months.I stopped after 4.5 months as my acne problem was completely resolved.

Now since 1 month i am getting acne all over the face again. Please suggest me something to get rid of this permanent. Also please suggest me some other Dandruff shampoo as XXXXXXX clear shampoo is not available every where. My Hair chemically straightened so please suggest shampoo accordingly.

Brief Answer:
Sebamed scalp shampoo is a good bet & lab tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX.
I do remember treating you while @ SMH. Now, I operate out of XXXXXXX hospital (which i have been at since 2+ years) & @ XXXXXXX Bhateja Speciality Hospital & my XXXXXXX number remains the same ..0000.
Apologies for the delay as i dont consult too often nowadays on the electronic portal for a number of reasons largely related to loyalty issues. :)
Please do a Lipid Profile, ESR, TC/DC, Sgot, Sgpt, S creat. (all these are lab tests done at a single sitting with one blood test in a fasting state) at any lab near your home or visit Central Lab which is @ XXXXXXX Circle above the restuarant Aromas of China. If the latter, i get the reports via email & we can take it from there.
Once these reports give you the all-clear, then we may need to start you on oral isotretinoin again.
As for the dandruff issue, do give Sebamed's Antidandruff scalp shampoo a try (use it twice a week on wet scalp) followed by a conditioner by the same sebamed company.
It will be best if i can meet you for a consult & you have my number.
Trust this helps you. Good Luck & Godspeed.
Compliments of the season. I shall be on leave starting later today so if there are any queries after the next 3-4 hours on this thread, please do call me as i will not be using the net for a few days on holiday till Monday next. Cheers!

Lab reports all clear; start oral tabs & medications as advised earlier.

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXX.
I have answered on Monday as I promised. Your reports are all fine & I would never label meeting ANY doctor as 'mandatory' but advisable always. However, given your 1 mth hectic schedule, please go ahead & follow the treatment as suggested above including resuming the tablets & do call on me in person when convenient.

Good Luck & Have a great 2015.
Dr Praveen Rodrigues MD.

P.S. This holiday season I don't much access to the internet. Thus I may not able to reply you soon. You can also reach me on my telephone number listed above. Thank You.
