Posted on Mon, 28 Sep 2015
Question: rash started on my 13 yr old granddaughter's right shoulder. Seem to be honeycomb in shape at first, then becomes circular as it grows together, with clear center, and scaley, crusty residue. Now on low back, spreading up and under breasts. Up neck and becoming established on face (cheek).

Brief Answer:
This is suggestive of lichen planus!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the image.

I have reviewed the image and this is suggestive of lichen planus. I will suggest that you see a dermatologist for conformation and treatment. This often happens when the body for some reasons attaches it own cells. Drugs that suppress the immune system such as steroids and retinoids could be of help. However, before talking about treatment possibilities, let’s get this diagnosis right first. Visit a dermatologist and let me know what he/she thinks.

Until then, Iw isn your daughter well and do keep me updated.
