Suggest Treatment For Radiating Pain In Chest

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Oct 2014
Question: I have pain in my right lower chest. I had EKG and they said it was normal then I had a x-ray which showed mild apical pleural thickening, so then they sent me for a CT scan w/o contrast and now they want me to do a CT Scan with contrast. Is this really needed? I have so much pain when I cough, sneeze, laugh, move the wrong way or etc.... the pain radiates from my chest to my back and I feel like I have a 2 lb weight in my right chest. What should I do? thanks for your concern in this matter.

Brief Answer:
Yes,Angio-Ct-scan of lungs is necessary..

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,

I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns.

Your symptoms are indicative for possible pancoast tumor. It is extremely important to run pulmonar angio Ct-Scan with contrast for further evaluation.

Please understand that when doctors find something unusual in the routine examinations, they would ask to run further specific investigations before running final conclusions.

Please collaborate with your doctor in order to find the right diagnosis and start treatment as soon as possible.

All the best!
