Question: Hello, 3 days ago I noticed I have a puss joule type pimple on the bottom of the head of my penis, almost on top of the circumcision site. It is hard and oozes puss almost like an infected pimple and is very sensitive, is this something I can take care of at home or will I need medication?

Brief Answer:
May be able to manage at home, but possibilities for recurrence

Detailed Answer:
Hello once again sir.

Thank you for the images and your co-operation sir.

The lesion from the images will require some amount of attention sir, and if I were your doctor I would have preferred to run a few tests, including an STD-panel. The sore may be managed at home, although it may take some time and antibiotic cream/ointment application; but I would like you to understand that if there is some underlying cause (for example: a sexually transmitted infection), the lesion(s) may reappear.

For this reason, I would recommend a doctors visit, especially if you are sexually active (to prevent transmission). Please do not hesitate to write back to me for any further clarifications, I would be more than happy to help.

Best wishes.

Thank you, sir, do you have an idea as to which STD would cause this type of lesion?
Also, should i place a bandaid on it with some antibiotic ointment? Or would freqent application work better?

Lastly, should it be popped or just allowed to resolve on its own?

Brief Answer:
Herpes, etc; no bandaid, cream 3 times a day, do not pop it

Detailed Answer:
Hi sir.

STDs like herpes, gonorrhoea, etc; all can present with sores on the genitalia; but sores like yours can also have a non-infectious cause.

Do not place a bandaid on it sir, it is best left open, but do apply the antibiotic cream on top of it after cleaning it well enough, three times a day. Application thrice a day is quite enough sir.

Do not pop it or touch it or squeeze it sir. Please also keep in touch and feel free to write back to me for any further clarifications, I am always here to help.

Best wishes.
