Acid reflux worse lately. When I quit smoking I started using e cigarettes which seem to burn a little bit in my throat, so may be a combination of that and acid reflux. I am slowly seeing myself off of the e cigarette because of this, and am down to the least amount of nicotine in them.
Pain in throat is deep in my throat I guess into my chest lately.
Quantity of blood is varied. Never a lot, and often if I spit once thats all of the blood. If I spit again, its either gone or just a trace. I do see air bubbles in blood sometimes.
Never had it checked.
I take Tums every once in while for acid reflux
Never black stools, but have had some blood in stool in the past, thinking it may be hemmeroids,
I have been having some blood in saliva for several months when I brush my teeth, but spitting blood without blood is occasional. Has been occuring off and on for a couple of years.
Thank you and I look forward to hearing back from you.
Gums seem to be bleeding
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for writing back,
As far as blood is concerned it seems to be coming from the mouth, this condition is called gingivitis and it means that inside of gums and teeth are releasing blood. With brushing gums can get damages , you should brush but otherwise clean your mouth with mouth wash by some good brand.
As far as Stomach is concerned I suppose Tums wouldn't work for long for you they are just 1-2 hour relief tablets , stomach issues also cause problems with mouth by irritating mucosa (internal soft skin) and causing ulcers and gums damage.
There are certain measures you can take which will help you control your stomach and eventually bleeding symptoms.
1) Avoid bitter sour food.
2) Avoid fizzy, sour, caffeinated drinks, , don't take tea or coffee at all.
3) Avoid smoking and alcohol if you use them.
4) Increase fibre content in your food strictly avoid junk, use whole wheat products , you can even use fibre supplements (organic ones)
5) Eat red and white meat less for some days.
6) Reduce weight if you have more weight than you should.
7) Don't fall asleep or lie down immediately after dinner. have a 15-20 mins walk.
Then we come to meds,
1) You can use antacids over the counter for quick relieve like syrup Gaviscon.
2) I would prescribe my patient with Omeprazole or any other PPI they really help.
3) Then my patients responded really well to prokinetics like motillium.
4) I would also ask my patients to take zantac in night if they took omerpazole in morning to add the effect.
I hope following my suggestions will help you.
You don't have to worry about any big reason like cancer etc there doesn't seem to be any thing like that.
Regards.
