Brief Answer:
Acne scars

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.

I am Dr. Kakkar. I have gone through your query and I have understood it.

Post acne scars are a common complication of acne. Unfortunately home remedies are not very effective for acne scars and marks.

Various available methods with a dermatologist to improve the appearance of acne scars are: Chemical Peeling, Fractional CO2 Laser, Microneedling/Dermaroller, Subcision, Punch excision and grafting, Dermabrasion etc.

These methods can be used alone or combined with each other to produce the desired results.

Acne scars can be of various types e.g ice pick , box car type , rolling type etc. Usually a patient of acne scars has a combination of different type of acne scars. Not a single modality is suitable for all kinds of scars. E.g while dermaroller is mainly for rolling type of scars with smooth edges, dermabraison is for box-car type of scars and punch grafting for ice type of scars.

Therefore if you don't notice a significant improvement with dermaroller there are other options like chemical peeling, subcision, microdermabrasion that you may discuss with your dermatologist for the type of scaring you have.
