Brief Answer: medication correct Detailed Answer: Hello Pompholyx is an endogenous eczema. It has no relation to use of detergents. The medication prescribed is correct. However dose of omnacortil needs to be increased. Also a stronger steroid cream will give faster relief. Please meet your treating doctor and discuss regarding these. Thank you

Hello doctor, thank you for your comment. If you can be little more elaborate on the causes of Pomoholyx and palmar. My mother was advised not to use any detergent material, that is why I mentioned it. I read some where that some times it can happen because of urine infection, is it possible and also steroid consisting creams can worsen the situation. Please let me know.

Brief Answer: Patch test to be done Detailed Answer: Hello As I mentioned, Pompholyx is an endogenous eczema. Most common causative agent is thought to be ingested metals. These enter our body with food and water. A person is allergic to these, develops pompholyx. You are correct, there are theories that it can be related to infection anywhere in body. However none of these are proved and hence steroids must be given for the benefit of the patient. I advice you to get patch test done for her, In this test various metal samples will be tested on her skin to find out the one causing allergy. Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you
