Polycystic ovarian syndrome is called PCOS for short. It is caused due to excess androgen hormone production from ovaries. There are small cysts and hypertrophy of ovaries.
The diagnosis needs to be confirmed by a consult with a local gynecologist.
It can be treated by various means like low dose Pills, metformin, weight reduction etc depending upon patient profile and priorities.
It takes time to respond and resolve.
