Suggest Treatment For Plantar Fasciities

Question: Hi,
I'm 63 and a in good health. Over the last week or so, I've noticed on 3 occasions I have sort of stumbled and lost balance when getting up from a chair. Each time I've immediately caught myself and the feeling of imbalance lasted only a second or so. It has only happened those 3 times, but I don't remember experiencing this before. I have also been plagued with plantar fasciitis for a number of months and it has impacted my stride and walk pattern.

I am pretty hypochondriacal and if I let my imagination run, fear a brain tumor. I have no problem completing the heel to toe test (forward and back), doing finger to nose test, standing with feet together and eyes closed, etc.. No headaches, nausea, tingling, numbness, etc...I'm hoping that because I now sort of walk on the outside of my one foot (due to the plantar) it is causing the slight, very brief stumble.
Do you see any reason to be concerned?

Thanks for your help.

Sincerely,

Brief Answer:
There is no reason to be concerned.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and the fact that your neurological examination is totally normal.

Also, there were brief episodes.

I do not think you have a brain tumor or any other serious neurological illness.

Any walking difficulty produced by the brain tumor would be present all the time and would not occur in brief episodes.

There is no need to worry at present.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Thanks Doctor,
Can I assume that the very brief "balance" issues I experienced would last for a longer period than a second or so if this was something serious.

Appreciate if you can confirm.

Thank you very much.

Brief Answer:
Yes, I agree with you.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Yes, if you were to have a serious disease, the balance issue would be present for a much longer period, and mostly it would be present all the time in cases of brain tumor.

Best wishes,
