Suggest Treatment For Persistent Viral Fever

Question: my mother is suffering from viral fever from almost 1 week. she is taking paracetamol and some antibiotics but she has mild fever all the time. her test report is normal . please help what we can do now. also find test report in attachment.

Most of the viral illness are self limiting. They tend to persist for a duration of a week or 10 days.

Antibiotics are for bacterial infections, they do not have any effect on infecting virus. Antibiotics are given to prevent bacterial infections which usually follow a viral fever.

I recommend you to wait for another three days, meanwhile manage the fever with paracetamol and complete the course of the antibiotics she is on now.

If the fever persists for more than 10 days which means she has a bacterial infection for which the antibiotics she has taken is not suitable. Hence, starting a new course of suitable antibiotics based on the symptom profile will help.
