Detailed Answer:
Hi i am Dr Ahmed Aly
thanks for using healthcaremagic site ,
I had gone through your question and understand your concerns ..
Ankle swelling may be due to a minor injury , ankle twist , arthritis or even a vascular injury .
For my patients i recommend to decrease ankle swelling by avoiding standing and bending your knees for a long time , using anti inflammatory drugs like NSAIDs ( like advil tab 2 times daily after meals ) , antiedematous ( like alphintern tabs before meals ) , wearing an ankle support with elevation of the ankle , hot gentle massaging with a topical gel will be helpful .
If swelling persists i suggest further investigations like Doppler U/S to rule the underlying cause for proper evaluation and management .

Detailed Answer:
usually when the swelling is bilateral with both legs that is due to a systemic disease .
i recommend a doppler U/S and a cardiologist point of view to properly manage the cause .
for now try too loose weight , avoid standing and bending your legs for a long time and do a lab check up .
