Suggest Treatment For Persistent Shoulder Pain

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jun 2017
Question: Hello, Doctor! I wanted to consult with you about my shoulder pain for the past one month. I haven't seen any inflammation on my shoulders or any sleep discrepancies. I feel no pain when I am running in the gym. It only aches on the front of my shoulder near the collarbone when I try to do things that work my arm muscle or when I try to expand my chest. Could you please suggest me some remedies for it?

Brief Answer:
Impingement syndrome

Detailed Answer:
Hi there

Thanks for the query

It is possible that you may be having impingement syndrome where the muscle in front of the shoulder is getting trapped and damaged under the collarbone end.

Avoid lifting arm overhead, lifting weights. Apply warm packs to the affected region.Take Tablet Ibuprofen 400mg twice a day for 5 days.

Do get an ultrasound of the shoulder rotator cuff and subacromial region to confirm the problem. Physiotherapy in the form of Rotator cuff strengthening will help.

I hope I have answered your query.

I will be available to answer your follow up queries.

Regards,

Dr. Aashish Raghu
