Question: I have persistent moderate pain in my groin, which upon examination was determined not to be a hernia. It feels like a strained adductor muscle. Why won't it go away?

Brief Answer:
It can be adductor muscle tendon inflammation indeed.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

If you are physically active performing jogging, bike ridding or even intense walking, adductor muscle tendon inflammation can be the reason indeed. If so, the pain should be present only during specific direction movement. And should not be present while resting.
To heal this kind of issue, few months of rest along with physical therapy is necessary.
If you have been resting for a week or two, this is way too short.

Sometimes it is good to have groin ultrasound to rule out hernia as physical examination is not always the best tool.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
