Suggest Treatment For Persistent Gastric Issues
Question: Hi,
I am facing regular gastric problem (past 7-8 months). I have done endoscopy (Reports details below).. Doctor has noted it's kind of a stomach ulcer and advised the below mentioned tablet's for 4-6 months. I do not see any significant improvement in health yet (On Medication for ~7 weeks) . Need a second opinion on this. Any suggestion or tips to over come this problem faster would be helpful.
Symptoms: Continuous Burp after food, Burning sensation in stomach, stomach pain at times.
Endoscopy report:
OGD
Indication: Persistent dyspepsia
Premedication:
Oesophagus: Normal
Stomach: Erythema in body and antrum
Duodenum:
D1: Erythema seen.
D2: Normal
Biopsy: From antrum for H pylori, RUT - Negetive
Impression: Erythema in body and antrum.

Good mornig Mr XXXX,
1) Endoscopy did not mention ulcer, it was gastric erosions (early stage of ulcer formation)
2) Overall presentation of your endoscopy was associated to gastritis (acidity)
3) Although, 90% of erosions in antral area of stomach are associated with H.Pylori infection RUT test for it was negative in your case. Still there might be possibility of it as you have symptoms of dyspepsia since long time and little improvement after medications. H.Pylori infection particularly affect antral part of stomach and cause gastric erosions and gastritis.
4) H.Pylori associated gastritis/gastric erosions require treatment for acidity (you are receiving already) + specific antibiotic treatment to eliminate H.Pylori infection for 14 days
5) Also I recommend you to continue these medications for minimum 2 weeks to get healing of erosions with reducing production of acid in stomach. During this type you must avoid any irritant food (spices, oily food) which aggravates erosions

Thanks a lot for your advice. I have couple of follow-up queries.
1) Do i have to consult my doctor again for possible antibiotic treatment for H.Pylori infection ?
2) Will it usually take 4-6 months time for me to completely get back to normal as mentioned by my doctor even with the current medication i am undergoing?
