Suggest Treatment For Persistent Dizziness

Question: Hi again,

"I answered a medical query of yours some days back and just wanted to know if everything is fine with you."

Thank you for asking!

I still get dizziness on and off. I'm not exactly sure what sets it off, but at least partially, it has a postural element to it (sitting for a extended period of time and then getting up seems to trigger a vertigo + dizziness feeling. The vertigo goes away withing 60 seconds or so). In addition, I believe there is some form of motion sickness element to it as well (for example, I went to see a 3D movie with a lot of fast moving action scenes lately and got really dizzy in some parts of the movie). I also get dizzy fast in crowded environments like supermarkets. These issues have now been bothering me for 6 months or so.

However, I went to see a lungs specialist last week because of my breathing issues that was getting worse. He agreed that my symptoms sound like something Laryngopharyngeal Reflux might brought upon, but he first ordered chest + throat x-ray and I have an upcoming asthma test coming this Friday. I'll meet with the doctor again on Tuesday, next week.

I'll keep you updated on how things turn out. The dizziness is really bothersome thing, but the actual breathing problems are way worse, which is why I wanted to tackle that issue first. Let's see how that goes.

Thanks!

Detailed Answer:
Hi back XXXXXX,

Nice to hear from you again. I am sorry that your dizziness problems are not set.

I advise to run the advised tests first, and see how that goes before running into final conclusions.

Meanwhile, I advise to:
- eat often and small portions
- avoid citrus, chilly, oily foods
- try to get up slowly
- do not turn your head around quickly

Looking forward to hearing from you!
