Brief Answer:
It would soon be fine.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone very carefully through your query and understand your concerns. It seems that your wife had contracted a gastrointestinal infection. Such infections are usually self limiting (unless associated with bloody stools) and antibiotics are not needed. However, since you have already started antibiotics, please complete the course.

She still needs to be given plenty of fluids to drink. ORS (oral rehydration solution) can be given. Also give her curd or yogurt.

You need not worry. Things would soon be fine back again.

Feel free to write back in case of further queries.

Brief Answer:
Continue present treatment.

Detailed Answer:
I do not think that it is due to ulcerative colitis. Let us not speculate. Let us proceed one step at a time. You can get back to me after a week or so with the status updates and I will guide you accordingly.
