Suggest Treatment For Persistent Coughs

Question: My wife has been coughing for weeks. She has been on 2 antibiotics ans cough meds., over the counter, and none of these has helped. About 5 months ago she had a complete set of pulmonary tests with x-rays and they came back negative ,good. When she does stop she still feels she not breathing correctly and she start coughing when she starts talking or exerting herself. The DR just try's another med. What should we do.

There are many reason of chronic cough including cough variant asthma, acid reflux, allergic rhinosinusitis, eosinophilic bronchitis etc.

Please ask your doctor for a simple breathing test called spirometry done which will reveal underlying cause like asthma especially if she has frequent colds or if she is allergic.
You may require inhaled bronchodilator andsterocombination for the same.
