Brief Answer:
Get medical help

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM

I am sorry for your husband and i can understand your concern.

According to the history he should get medical help and do the following tests :

Hemogram
CRP
Chest X Ray
Spirometry test
ECG

This is the first step.If they come positive he should get treatment with antibiotics, inhalers, mucolitics and need to be followed by the pulmonologist.

Please you should talk with his doctor.

Losing weight is not a good signs.

He should be examined further

Take care and i wish a fast recovery for him

Feel free to ask me again

Brief Answer:
For exploring lung diseases

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

The above tests are for evaluating several lung diseases that cause chronic cough (like lung infections for example )

Spirometry test is mainly to determine the airways obstruction which can cause cough and sometimes breathlesness

ECG is a simple test for heart problems which excludes some cardiac problems causing cough too.

You can attach me the results and discuss again.
