Question: I am a 36 year Type 1 diabetic. For several months I have had a cough. I have been prescribed 3 or 4 different antibiotics, but I have the same issue. Now, I am also having resting heart rates of 91-98, some moderate pain in my chest, I currently take the following medications daily: ViiBryd, Losartan, Momentasone Furoate, Levimir in the morning. At night I take, alprazolam, Tussinex(with Hydrocodone) Zyrtec, Montelukast, and simvastatin, and Levimir. My novalog is on a 50 point correction scale and my carb ratio is 1:10. My blood sugars have been 160-317. Can any of these medications cause these symptoms/side effects?

I take the following medications daily: Losartan, ViiBryd, mometasone furoate, simvastatin, montelukast, alprazolam, tussinex with hydrocodone, and zyrtec. I am a 36 year type 1 diabetic. I take 24 units of levimir in the the morning and 22 in the evening. I use novalog with 50 point scale correction rate 1:50 over 150; 1:10 carb ratio. Today, I have experience blood sugars 162 to 317; an elevated heart rate of 98 standing and 91 lying down. I just finished 14 days of omnicef and even continuing to take the cough syrup, my cough remains the same. My chest feels dull and achy, with or without deep breaths. It is not consistant pain. Can any of these medications cause these problems?

Yes, you should definitely discuss about PFT (pulmonary function test) with your primary care physician and get it done.
It will tell you about severity of the disease and treatment is based on severity only.
You may need additional inhaled bronchodilator (formoterol or salmeterol).
