Suggest Treatment For Persistent Cough And Chest Congestion

Question: I went to the Dr. for coughing and congestion. They took x-rays and I was negative for bronchitis and pnemonia. I was given an inhaler, zertec, tylenol and a nasal spray. 3 Days later, my cough persists, my nasal drip has turned ugly and what I spit out is just as bad. I have no temperature and feel fine otherwise.

Thanks for the query and i can understand your concern
Follow below instructions
1 To use a mucolytic such as Bromhexine and Ambroxol, this helps in thinning of the tenacious secretions.
2 Take Tab Sinarest for your cold and runny nose for 3 days, twice daily morning and night.
4. Try taking an antibiotic either with a combination of Amoxycillin and Clavulanic acid or Cefuroxime for 5 days twice daily morning and night. the former and the latter are the drugs of choice for this condition.
Drink plenty of fluids.
5. Avoid oily and spicy food.
6. salt -Warm water gargles 5 - 6 times a day. or Betadine mouth wash you can use for gargling.
