Suggest Treatment For Persistent Bleeding From The Nipples

default
Posted on Tue, 9 May 2017
Question: I started bleeding from my nipple this morning, not much, but never happened before. could find no sign of scabbing and just thought it was something to watch. tonight it started bleeding again and i could find the location of the blood to the left of the left nipple. I noticed that just before it started bleeding, my left shoulder and arm started hurting really bad. as soon as the bleeding started and continued for about 5 to 7 minutes, the pressure and pain was gone and my arm doesn't hurt anymore.

I have been trying to edit my information as i mistakenly left out an "n" on my email address. I think it is corrected, but not sure. I have not received any emails. My email address should be: YYYY@YYYY .

Brief Answer:
Please get examined by a specialist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.

The source of the bleeding should first be located before any further management is planned. So, I would ask you to see a specialist for proper clinical evaluation.

The bleeding could be from an infection, a cyst or abscess, from the ducts and so on. The relationship between the bleeding and the pain in the arm suggests either an extension into the axilla or pressure effect.

Examination of the breast should be made thoroughly. Ultrasonogram and mammogram are also needed. FNAC may be performed if needed.

Further management is planned based on the results.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

regards,
Shanti.V.
