Sometimes when I'm just standing my legs with shake and my hands will shake even when they are relaxed by my side. When I pick up my glass or even a pen my hand will shake. As I'm trying to type this I am experiencing tremors in hands and head. After I take valium which was prescribed to me, they ease some .I have had my thyroid checked and it is always negative.

Brief Answer:
Most likely essential tremors.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and they are suggestive of essential or familial tremors. However, family history may be lacking in some people.

These tremors are benign or harmless, however, may interfere with some activities of daily living over a long period of time.

The treatment is mainly symptomatic with medications such as propranolol and topiramate.

Most tests such as thyroid profile, vitamin B12 level and MRI brain come out as normal in this condition, as it is caused due to imbalance in brain chemicals.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,
