Suggest Treatment For Pediatric Reactive Airway Disease
Question: Hi
My boy is 5yrs and 3months.
He has had issues of seizures and we are giving him levera 1.5ml every night.
From past two days he has been having running nose for which we gave him sinarest and brozeet.
Tonight he has issue of lot of dry coughing and as per earlier prescription of doctor we nebulized him with budesal respule 0.5mg. Pls comment is the budesal OK for such situations at night?

Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.
Dry cough responding to budesal nebulization indicate reactive airway disease.
If he is not having fever or sputum expectoration,you can continue the nebulization for about 5 days and then stop.If fever or appears in coming days,kindly see your doctor as this will also need antibiotics.
Regarding tablets,you need not give sinarest and brozeet together.Just discontinue brozeet(both brozeet and budesal contains broncho dilators.Tablets have more side effects than nebulization,and can be used if nebulization fails).Sinarest can be continued upto 5 days if cold symptoms persists.
Meanwhile,keep him away from dusty/cold atmosphere.

As my kid has milestone delays and at age of 5yrs he is still like a 3yrs by intelligence. He cannot spit his mucus which develops in his throat and nose. due to ability not to spit, I feel this condition stays longer in him as compared to others.
Will budesal and sinarest remove the mucus? The sinarest and brozert are in liquid form (pediatric use).
what do we if he gets this coughing repeated once every 2-3 months.

Getting every 2-3 months need not be worried much.This falls in mild intermittent type,and need only inhaled medications(nebulizations/inhalers) during exacerbations.No need of regular prophylaxis.
Try to keep him away from dust,smoke,cold etc.
Keep the bed room as dust free as possible.Wet clean the floor,walls,windows,overhead racks,fan leaves,AC filters etc regularly.Wash blankets and bed sheets frequently.Avoid exposure to cold.These can help in reducing the frequency of attacks.
