Suggest Treatment For Passing Of Worms In Stool

default
Posted on Mon, 13 Apr 2015
Question: I found maybe 30-40 worms, and eggs in just 2 bowel movements, I don't know what to do next.
I am very hesitant to bring the subject of parasites up with my Dr.for fear he will laugh, or dismiss me as delusional. Is there anything over the counter available to treat, i suspect round worms, tape worms and possibly fluke. Thank you in advance XXXXXXX

Welcome to Healthcaremagic.
Hi, I am Dr Anshul Varshney , I have read your query in detail , I understand your concern.
This is quite possible and this is not a matter of delusion.
You should see your doctor and he will order a stool routine & microscopy test for the purpose and that would give evidence if you are actually passing worms or not. Moreover, it will also tell which organism is there, and the drug would be given according to that.
Most commonly used drugs are Albandazole, Mebandazole. You should not take them OTC as you are passing significant no. of worms in stools.
This is my personal opinion based on details available here. If you still have any other query, you may please ask me.

Brief Answer:
You may carry.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
These symptoms are not due to worm infestation.
Worm infestation usually presents with anemia and pain Abdomen.
You may carry the worms with you. However your doctor will Stoll order stool examination for you.
I hope it helps.

Dr.
I would not have believe worm infestation if I had not seen them with my own eyes. As far as pain in abdomen, I do have on occasion, I have been hospitalized 2x for bleeding from my rectum, not bloody stools, the actual bowel movement was pure bright red blood. i do know they gave me Albendazole, with no mention why. I only discovered later when I obtained my hospital records. Never gave it another thought.
In 2002 I was diagnosed, and treated, for hookworm infestation, I think I failed to mention i have 3 cats, they too were treated for tapeworm, and roundworm.

Thank you for your input, is there any home remedy I can do for this?

Brief Answer:
You would require Albandazole again.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
There are no successful home remedies to kill these worms.
It's not a thing of much stress. You can simply go to your doctor and take a prescription of Albandazole.
You will be fine.
I hope it helps.
