Question: Hi, I have been having twitching all over my body, paresthesias, and pain for months now. I went to the doctor and since I also had recurring shoulder pain, I was told I had a pinched nerve. There was no imaging or anything, he pressed some points in my neck that were very painful and told me he was sure that I had a pinched nerve. I was prescribed gabapentin but I am afraid of the high dosage and the side effects so I haven't taken it. I recently started getting neck twitches, facial pain, and this weird feeling from my cheek to my chin on the right side of my face. This feeling is not numbness because it's sensitive to pain and it comes and goes. I had it on the left side as well but only once and it didn't extend to my chin on that side. I've also had little twitches in my eyelids, cheeks, and above my lips. Another symptom is pain and this prickly feeling in the back of my head near my neck. I get random head pains and headaches that do not affect my vision, balance, come in the morning, or cause nausea or vomiting. They are very random and the head pains are sometimes very sudden and last for seconds.
I've googled my symptoms and now I am afraid that I have a grave health problem such as MS, a brain tumor, or ALS, although a lot of symptoms have pointed to something called Benign Fasciculation Syndrome. Should I see a doctor or just these symptoms off as BFS?
