Suggest Treatment For Painful Urination In An Elderly Person

default
Posted on Sat, 6 Feb 2016
Question: I'm a 53 year old male. About 3 months ago I had an episode of painful urination. The pain was toward the end of the penis opening and felt as if it was being stretched. The pain was intense but was a single episode and my next urination that day was without incident. I assumed I had passed a kidney stone as my father had had trouble with this around the same age. A few weeks back it happens again only this time during ejaculation, more painful...my yelp scared the wife, and the morning after I discovered a small amount of bleeding had occurred as well. However, that morning's pee was again uneventful. I just peed and experienced that exact pain as the other times. Very intense at the opening. This time I happened to be peeing in a plastic bottle. This time blood dripped upon completion and for a couple minuets after. I saved the pee and poured it through a filter but found no stone? The fact that it happened once during ejaculation sounds strange to me. Is this kidney stones?

Brief Answer:
Possible Renal stone.Require NCCT for confirmation

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Sir.

I can certainly understand your concerns.

I worked through your query in detail.

Your symptoms are largely suggestive of Renal stones.

It is very important to confirm this condition, as early management is mandatory.

For this, I advise you to get a non contrast CT scan of the abdomen/NCCT abdomen for accurate location of stone along with complete urine examination.

Further management if any is largely based on the scan result.

Post your further queries if any.
Thank you.
