Brief Answer:
no need to worry

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome
This doesnt look to me as something to be concerned about.
There is expected degree of redness after such injuries and I dont think that antibiotics are required or wound exploration as well.
Just be patient, leave scab to fall on itself and it will heal in 1-2 weeks,
Wish you good health. Regards

I'm concerned about the pain (whole leg aches/burns) and the bruise on the ankle. The pain wakes me up at night.

Brief Answer:
need to do inflammatory markers

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
I still don't think this is worrying but to be sure that there is no systemic inflammatory response, you should do leukocytes and inflammatory markers and Doppler leg ultrasound if pain worsens.
