Suggest Treatment For Painful Red Spot On Outer Vagina

default
Posted on Tue, 24 Nov 2015
Question: The outer part of the vagina has a red place about the size of a pea that has been bothering me for a while. I spoke with my primary physician and he did a culture and the results came back ok. He advised me to use vaginal cream, but it is not helping. A couple of days ago, I started having sharp pain on the spot. What could it be...gynological or kidneys?

Brief Answer:
I would be happy to help you with just a little more information

Detailed Answer:
Hello, and I hope I can help you today.

I understand from your question that you have had this bump for a while... and that is is red... But without being able to examine it myself, I need a little more information to help make an accurate diagnosis...

For one, did your doctor do a pelvic examintaion and look at the area? I know you said it is outside the vagina, but where exactly, your inner labia? And did he take a culture from the bump, or a urine culture? And what type of cream did he prescribe?

And also- it could help to know how long you have had the bump, and if you have any medical condition like diabetes, and if you are sexually active.

So if you could provide some of this information for me, I may be able to help you better.

I can say for now, however that there is no reason to suspect that a lesion on your vulva has anything to do with your kidneys.

Anyway I hope to hear back from you so that I can best take care of your situation

Best wishes, Dr. Brown
