Suggest Treatment For Painful Red Sores On The Fingers

default
Posted on Mon, 19 Sep 2016
Question: I have woken the last two mornings to find my fingers have red bulging sores, the worst being on the middle joint of my third finger. It is red, swollen, circular in definition and painful. I have other swellings on most fingers near the tips on both hands. It worsens in winter and subsides in summer. This is the 5th winter but the joint swelling is new. What is wrong with my hands? I am unable to remove the normally quite loose ring on my third finger. The swelling and stiffness seem to be at their worst when I wake.

Brief Answer:
Rheumatoid arthritis or psoriatic arthritis are possibilities to consider

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and have checked the attached images. There is a possibility that you have rheumatoid arthritis. It is a chronic inflammatory disorder that can affect more than just your joints. It affects the lining of your joints, causing a painful swelling that can eventually result in bone erosion and joint deformity.

Psoriatic arthritis is another possibility to consider. You need to be clinically evaluated and thereafter investigated. I would strongly insist you to visit a rheumatologist.
You also require further investigations like RA factor,CBC

Feel free to write back.
