Question: I gouged my arm on a storm door handle two days ago. No stitches it stopped bleeding. I have been washing it and applying Neosporin. It looks like its healing, but still hurts . The wound is oozing and has not closed completely. How can I tell if its infected?

Brief Answer:
Wound appears to be healing nicely

Detailed Answer:
Hi, Thanks for your question and the pictures that you have attached which I have reviewed.

The wound looks clean and it does not look infected at present. Signs of infection are increasing redness, pain, swelling, heat and discharge.

The way you are treating your wound is appropriate and I would continue to clean twice a day with simple tap water and soap and then apply the neosporin.

I hope this answers your question.

Best wishes
