I have been keeping it elevated. But when I put it down again if feels like blood is rushing to it and pain for abput 30sec.
Any ideas?
Brief Answer:
It will get better gradually
Detailed Answer:
Hi there...
Thanks for writing in.
I would advise you to do hot fomentation on the affected foot/ankle area three times a day, since today is the fourth day after the injury.
You are doing the right thing by keeping the affected limb elevated. When bringing it down, try to do so slowly and gradually.
A tablet of diclofenac with serratiopeptidase twice a day after food might help reduce the pain and swelling. However, if you are prone to gastritis, take a tablet of ranitidine(antacid), as diclofenac can cause gastritis. This is the kind of treatment that I follow with my patients.
However, in two days , if you don't feel symptomatically better, i would advise you to visit an orthopaedician who might get an x ray done to look for bone injury or ligament injury.
Hope this information was helpful to you.
