Brief Answer:
Achilles Tendinitis

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank you for trusting HealthcareMagic for your health concern

Your symptoms are suggestive of Achilles tendinitis (inflammation) which can occur due to over exertion.
It will resolve in about 2 weeks.
You can apply ice on the area of pain.
Take Advil 600 mg 4 times a day
Keep the affected leg elevated
Take rest.Avoid exercising until the pain has reduced.
You can use crepe bandage (available over the counter) to stabilize the ankle joint while walking until the pain subsides.

Hope this answers your questions

Dear Dr. Lekshmi,In lieu of the 600 mg 4x per day of Advil would one 15mg of Meloxcam per day be better. I have two weeks of the med, left over from a neck problem in April.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,

Yes, you can definitely use Meloxicam 15 mg per day instead of Advil. Both these medications are in the same class.
