Question: I have swelling redness and pain in my ankle. It is much worse at night and much more swollen at night. Very painful but I can walk. Not sure if I need an x-ray.

1. I don't recall having any accident on Thursday.
2. How do I send a photograph to you?
3. I do have diabetes. My A1c is 7.0. No thyroid and no smoking.
Also, FYI, I do not eat meat but I do eat seafood.

Hello.
I have studied your case and I think you are having ankle synovitis.In this condition there is pain and swelling in ankle joint. It is very common in Diabetic patients.
1. You need to apply ankle support.
2.Tablet Advil or Brufen can be taken for pain relief.
3.Volitran gel local application.
4.Ice fomentation.
I hope these steps will be helpful for you. Avoid standing for long time or walking.let me know if there is any other followup questions.
