Suggest Treatment For Pain Post Broken Ribs
Question: I broke seven ribs six months ago. They still hurt . When I gently push on them (hardly any pressure at all) they hurt. They hurt when I lie down on my back as well. The also sometimes hurt when I take a deep breath

Usually, rib fracture heals in 6 weeks. Therefore I am not sure if the current symptoms are related to rib fracture unless we evaluate him further.
Ribs expand during breathing and also coughing. If there is pain on pressure,then you need to take a skeletal muscle relaxant tablet containing Thiocolchicoside till the symptoms subside. If there is no response in a week, I would ask you to get CT Scan of Chest. The status of fracture ribs can be assessed along with the Lung .
