Question: My girlfriend and I were playing badminton yesterday. She rolled over her foot and stubbed her toes while playing. She said it felt like a burning feeling. She says that the only two toes that hurt are the last two, and that most of the pain is in the top of her foot. Attached are images of the injury (right foot) the morning after it happened. She says it feels torn but isnt sure. Just wondering what the possible issue(s) coukd be.

Brief Answer:
It can be a soft tissue injury

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. She has developed bruising and it is due soft tissue injury. And some time there can be hair line fracture. I have following suggestions for you.
1.ice application
2.foot elevation over pillow.
3.compression bandage
4.tablet Brufen can be taken if pain is there
if pain increases then you need to get x ray to see if their is any fracture. In that case she will need splinting.
thanks
