Brief Answer:
Rest,ice,painkillers

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome.
At this point he should rest apply ice for 10 minutes on painful area, take nonsteroid painkillers. It is probably muscle distension or contusion. However,it may be partial muscle rupture and if there is no improvement in next few days,he should do ultrasound of muscles and tendons. Wish you good health. Regards
