Question: When I go to bed at night I develop aching in my elbow joints and knee joints. It's a constant dull ache that makes me want to move them. Often I'm awake for hours because of this. Nobody seems to know what the reason might be. First developed as a rare thing in my elbow about 8 yrs ago and has gotten progressively worse.

Brief Answer:
Go for few blood tests

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.

Repeated joint pains can be due to multiple causes at this age the commonest being poly arthralgia. Other causes can be rheumatoid arthritis, gout, inflammatory diseases like SLE, bursitis, fibromyalgia, etc.

I would suggest you to get yourself examined by an Orthopaedician for multiple joint pains . You would be asked to undergo few blood tests like Hb, RBS, TLC, DLC, ESR, RA factor, CRP and Thyroid profile along with routine urine examination. These investigations will help us find out the exact cause. Discuss with your doctor.

I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.

Take care
