Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Fibromyalgia
Question: I have had fibromyalgia for over 30 years. Have tried many pain meds in the past. Currently taking Hydrocodone. Have taken it for many years. I think my body is used to it because even when I take 2 tabs 10/325 it just doesn't seem to do the job. Do you think Hydromorphone would be a good substitute and could it be order through this site. I would greatly appreciate you thoughts and feed back.

I need to know about the medicines you have used and the response to the medicine on the pain in detail like the pain intensity if it reduced (e.g 8/10 to 4/10). If any of the above medicine like Percocet / Morphine has improved your quality of life. THere is a clear criteria to increase the dose and higher potential class of opioids.
I could perceive the pain you have. Since you have already used Morphine 50mcg and other opoids you may have break through pains. Hydromorphone is perfect fit for break through pains. Moreover it acts quickly as it is easily soluble than morphine. It is considered 4 to 7 times stronger than morphine.
Whether it suits you or not depends on person to person. Most practitioners would not quickly arrive at the right dose but a trial and error approach is done. They are potentially addictive. I suggest you to meet a local Pain medicine specialist who are trained enough to understand the pros and cons of prescribing Hydromorphone.
