Brief Answer:
As mention below

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear
Welcome to HCM and thanks for the query
I understand your concern

The most common cause of leg oedema in patients over 50 years of age is venous insufficiency

Other causes are: chronic kidney disease, heart failure, DVT, standing and sitting for long period, overweight, Lymphedema, low protein level and liver disease.
I would suggest to undergo color dopper USG of leg, blood tests like: Kidney function test, liver function test, ECG to rule out above condition.
Take following advises:
Wear compression bandages. The oedema reducing effect is based on continuous pressure that is maximal at the foot and gradually decreases proximally.
Put a pillow under your legs when lying down, which may lessen swelling related to the buildup of fluid..
Do walk daily in the morning and evening.
Do not keep the leg in dependant position for long time.
Avoid standing and sitting for long period.

The patient is advised to stand alternately on tiptoes and on the heels. The exercise is repeated 15 times, a few times every day.
Restriction of salt intake in the diet
Take high protein diet

Hope I have answered your query
If you have further query then I will be happy to help you
Best regards
Dr. Sagar
