Brief Answer:
Check BP, limit salt intake and follow the rest.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us.

Mild swelling or pain around ankle and foot is quite common during pregnancy period due to pressure on pelvic veins by gravid uterus. Do check BP periodically and limit SALT intake. Hot compression is useful.

Following measures would be helpful in your condition:

1) Avoid long standing and stay off your feet. Rotate ankle occasionally. Take rest adequately after walking.

2) Stretch your legs frequently while sitting. Stretch your leg out, heel first, and gently flex your foot to stretch your calf muscles.

3) Sleep in left lateral position with pillow under your legs. It will help to return blood from the lower half of your body to your heart.

4) Wear comfortable shoes that stretch to accommodate any swelling in your feet.

5) Wear compression stocking during the day. However, it shouldn't be too much tight.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and take care yourself.

Regards,
