Question: I have suffered nerve damage in my arm that causes extreme pain and numbness. it has made it very difficult to control the steering wheel when I'm trying to drive. I need to know if it is safe to continue to drive or if I should stop until my arm feels better?

Brief Answer:
You should restrict driving for the time being.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

Please tell a few details-
1)When did you suffer nerve injury and how did you get it?
2)Has the pain improved, worsened or remained static since the time it all started?

You should restrict driving for the time being till the time your symptoms improve because controlling the steering wheel is the trigger factor.

Meanwhile, you can take symptomatic anti-neuralgic treatment like amitriptyline or duloxetine.PLEASE TAKE MEDICINES UNDER YOUR PHYSICIAN'S GUIDANCE ONLY.

Please follow-up with details so that I can answer this well, further.
