Suggest Treatment For Pain And Difficulty Breathing Due To Cervical Spinal Fusion

my son had a cervical spinal fusion about a year and a half ago. at this time he is in severe pain.
he is having difficulty breathing, has pain in left shoulder and down his left arm. he was seen by
a md 3 days ago in emergency at hospital, E.K.G. normal blood work normal. He then returned home
breathing got worse went to a different hospital, cardiac fine. the doctor prescribed valium, he has
been and continues to take oxycodone, and advil. He saw an ortho. doc a couple weeks ago, had
a CT scan doctor thinks he might have an infection near the fusion site, or that the fusion failed
we are waiting for blood work results. in the mean time he is in severe pain, and having difficulty
breathing, he is also light headed (
the fusion site was at C 4-5 or 6-7?? could those be symptoms of cervical spine ANGINA?

Cervical angina is defined as painful symptoms resembling true cardiac angina but originating from disorders of the cervical spine. so of course yes, this could be.
For better opinion i would like to see the reports/ prescription paper.
madam/sir! chest/ arm pain with respiratory distress with a history of spine disease needs an emergency admission and stabilization of spine, otherwise the symptoms may get worse. ask your son to restrict neck movements and avoid jerks. also avoid pillow under head. such symptoms occur due to compression of spinal cord or the nerve roots. the respiratory symptoms are due to involvement of phrenic nerve or its roots. as u already said cardiac tests are normal so now next thing becomes spine.
There may be other reasons for pain like muscle related, but we should rule out the dangerous causes first as u ruled out the cardiac cause.
