Suggest Treatment For Overdose Of Restly
Question: my friend is 25 yrs old and is having some personal problems, last night he was drunk and has taken 30mg of restyl . we admitted him in hospital now and doctors are saying he is in critical stage as the tablets he has taken are dissolved. what else can be done to save him ? what are his survival chances ?

He has taken 30mg of restly which is a high disage and if he is till drowsy then he should be given Inj Flumazenil which will block all the benzodisazepine receptors and he may wake up in minutes. Most of the doctors do not use this medicine cause of ignorance but do discuss this option with your doctor.
Further its difficult to predict as rate of absorption us different for different people. Most probably he should be fine. Rest of the management involves IV fluids and supportive management.

Doctors are saying that you have brought him late you could have brouth him early as he also consumed alcohol with restyl and he is just 50kgs, its making them tough to treat him properly. We are not exactly aceesable to doctors as he is in icu and they are not allowing us to go in. will he be safe ? what could be the possibility of his survival?? could you be specifc because there family is too poor .

As we dont know how long the patient had stopped breathing, its difficult to predict the outcome. If there was a long period of time when the brain had not received the oxygen,then there is a possibility that the outcome could be poor. Moreover even if he comes out there is a possibility that there could be sever brain injury and deficient functioning with reduced intelligence.
