Suggest Treatment For Overactive Bladder, Dysuria And Blood In Urine

Question: Essentially I have acute Mycoplasma Hominis and here's a brief synopsis;

Essentially,

I need to be referred to a doctor in the U.S. that shares your understanding of mycoplasma and strains/forms and treatment. I’ll try to keep this succinct and to the point.

I’ve been having urogenital problems since the age of 16. I think I first contracted Mycoplasma Hominis (I’ll explain) with my first sexual experience. After being treated for that, have since consistently sought treatment, testing and ultimately an answer during symptomatic and asymptomatic periods.

Here’s a list of ongoing symptoms that increasingly worsened over the years;

•     Constant Dysuria (which has gotten progressively worse)
•     Overactive Bladder (I typically wake up out of sleep twice to urinate)
•     Constant Cold Flu Like Systems (Worsen Seasonally and have worsened with the onset of allergies)
•     Consistent Respiratory / Allergy/Non Allergy)Problems (which i’ve read a form of mycoplasma causes)
•     Swollen Lymph Nodes (constantly for years)
•     Infertility (Countless accidents with no sign of pregnancy. Furthermore, in 2015 I went to the Emory fertility doctor at the behest of the urologist who visited to try to solve this problem once and for all)
•     Constant Kidney/Back pain (left side)
•     Constant pain in the uro-genital areas (lower front pelvic area)
•     Swollen Prostate and epididymis (which is still swollen)
•     Bloody Urine (this happed under unique circumstances but I’m adding to the uro-genital problems)
•     A few of my sexual partners over the years have contracted severe UTI’s during asymptomatic periods

I’ve gone to doctors/urologists and countless tests to come up negative for any STD/UTI’s. Last August I went to the urologist to try to get some insight and fix my problem. I explained all of the above (all history) and also talked possible fertility issues as a result. The urologist recommended A semenalysis and urinanalysis. The urinalysis revealed that the mycoplasma Hominis as detected. I was prescribed antibiotics (7 day package), however I knew that I would need a long term therapy that’d essentially have to cycle varied antobiotics regularly due to myknown history.

a referral to somebody in the states would help immensely. I have healthcare but I don’t care if this person out of network, I just need them on the same wavelength and the ability to implement some version of the long-term treatment plan that will cure this once and for all.

If I had a patient like you I would have asked him to undertake a DTPA as well as DMSA scan before visiting an urologist or an infectious disease specialist (both needed in your case).

Thanks or the response...would it be safe to assume that due to the length of time for infection it is quite possible that the mycoplasma has colonized other parts of my uro-genital system.

Brief Answer:
Careful consideration required

Detailed Answer:
No, I would not take assumptions. Anatomical aberrations could be predisposing you to such infections. Furthermore, if the infection is completely treated, it would not give you reinfection with the previous pathogen (as it is killed off already). So a proper evaluation is needed about why you are getting Mycoplasma repeatedly.

[1] Should I skip my general physician and go to an infectious disease specialist or let the general physician refer me?

[2] Can you please outline ANY AND ALL the tests that I should recommend to the general physician. These are things that you may sort everything out immensely properly assess the situation i.e.;

Vitamin Deficiencies
DTPA scan
DMSA scan
etc.......

Furthermore I was reading through a thread and found this place;

Brief Answer:
Questions answered one by one.

Detailed Answer:
Pardon me for the inadvertent delay in response.
1. Following the standard procedure a referral from your general physican would be required. However, call up the infectious disease specialists to find out if they accept direct appointments. If they go, I would suggest going in directly for an infectious disease specialist. You can also get in touch with the Diagnostic Mycoplasma Laboratory that you have mentioned.

2. There is no specific investigation that you need to ask for. The significance of a DTPA and DMSA scan need to be discussed with an urologist or rather a nephrologist and not an infectious disease specialist. It is to evaluate for some structural abbrerration that might predispose you to recurrent infections. Consultation of an infectious disease specialist is still required not for testing but to carefully try to understand if there remains an unattended focus that is harboring an infection, making the infection return again and again.

I do not expect a vitamin deficiency.
