Question: My right leg is a little shorter than the left, I have an orthotic. I had a total knee replacement 7 years ago. I do have osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease in my spine and osteoarthritis in both knee's but now my Right hip is bone on bone, left hip unremarkable. In the last few months I started having really bad pain in my right shoulder. Doctor ordered an x-ray. My Right shoulder shows prominent degenerative spurring the inferomedial aspect humeral head, Left shoulder nothing. So knee, hip and shoulder all on the same side.Could this be caused by the right leg being shorter? Thank you, Renay Gorski

Brief Answer:
Can be related to shorter leg.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
A shorter right leg can put an extra stress on the right knee and right hip thus causing the degenerative changes to progress faster on the right side. The degenerative changes in the right shoulder may be related to being right handed. This is not likely to be related to the shorter leg.
I hope this answers your query.
