Question: Ok. I have inconsistent BP. In Dec. I had orthostatic hypotension, so my BP med (1of 3) was lowered. Whereupon my BP shot up. Then we went back up with1 my med and my and my BP was still too high. So we doubled it and it was fine (finally). Today I was given a prescription for Midodrine HCL 2.5 mg to raise my BP!!!

Brief Answer:
Ask your cardiologist to adjust doses of anti hypertensives!

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for choosing HCM.
Midodrine is used in treatment of orthostatic hypotension. However in your case you are on antihypertensive medications, and doctor has doubled the doses of your medicines. Its very likely that your hypotension at present is attributed to higher doses of anti hypertensives.
You should ask your cardiologist to adjust the doses of anti hyptensives instead of prescribing you with midodrine.
If possible please mention the name of antihypertensives you are on and their doses.
Thank you!

I take Norvasc 10mg 2X a day (just increased), Bystolic 10g 2X a day, and Telmisarton 40mg once a day. With this set of BP meds my BP stays around 140/80, as it should be. I think I should just stick with regime.

Do you agree?
