Brief Answer:
Diet wise anything other than spicy food is fine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for the query.

Lifestyle changes which can be extremely helpful and include - avoid spicy food, smoking, caffeine, alcohol, smoking, large meals, sleep immediately after meal ,stress management, heavy physical activity after meals, avoid packed or preserved food.

Diet includes- dairy products, green vegetables , fruits, ghee, dishes of potatoes, banana, soups, whole-wheat breads, cereals, pasta, and brown rice. Choose lean meats, poultry (chicken), fish, beans, eggs, and nuts.

The treatment is basically directed towards reducing acid production or neutralizing it.

A use of antacid like (ranitidine) can give relief within in short duration, however action last for shorter duration. Proton pump inhibitor(Prilosec) reduce acid formation and have comparatively longer duration of action.

Pro-motility drugs (metoclopramide ) can be used. They increase the pressure in the lower esophageal sphincter and strengthen the contractions of the esophagus.

Foam barriers provide a unique form of treatment for esophagitis. Foam barriers are tablets that are composed of an antacid and a foaming agent.

Hope this helps.Regards
