Brief Answer:
Increased dose of lyrica is required.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question.

Lyrica is a very good medication for neuropathy. The dose may need to be increased by your doctor. You are on a very low dose. Once you get to the maximum dose it still may take several months to decrease the pain. Other medications that can be added to help with neuropathy include cymbalta and one of the older tricyclic antidepressants. We believe that the antidepressants help with pain because increasing serotonin decreases pain sensation in the nervous system. Make sure that your doctor has checked you for reversible causes of neuropathy like B12 deficiency.

Good luck and I hope you get some relief soon.

Brief Answer:
yes

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your follow up. Yes it is safe to take the gabapentin with the low dose lyrica, but I am afraid even that may not be enough. You should try speaking with your doctor about giving you something temporarily to help with pain and sleep until you are on the correct dosage of medications for the neuropathy.
