Brief Answer:
Consult orthopaedic doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting the question.

From the medical history that you have mentioned,it seems that you may have injured your intervertebral disc in the cervical spine during the incident.

This usually causes considerable pain in neck and wakes you up during sleep when it causes compression of the spinal nerve in the spine.

If taking ibuprofen has not helped you, then i think you should stop taking pain-killer medicines.

Instead, you should see a orthopaedic doctor and get X ray / MRI of neck done to rule out intervertebral disc prolapse or any other cervical spine injury.

Depending upon the reports, further line of management can be decided.

Treatment options include- Physiotherapy, cervical collar, laser therapy, short wave diathermy, neck exercises etc.

Do upload the MRI / Xray reports once they are done.

IMPORTANT-
1.Do not take pillow while sleeping.
2.Do not lift heavy weight.

I hope the answer was useful.

Best wishes.

Wish you a speedy recovery.
