Brief Answer:
Steam inhalation is important.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. I understand that you are using saline nasal drops but it may take 5-7 days for recovery to occur. You can use a rubber bulb syringe nasal aspirator if you want. The brand does not matter. It is safe to be used in case of a child of this age. But it would be better if you give steam inhalation to your child. It helps in reducing the congestion. Just sit with your child on your lap and place the source of steam before you. The water vapor will be in the air and automatically the child will breathe it in. Water vapor will reach deep inside and would help in diluting the cough and thus would provide relief.

Let me know if I could help further.
